Constable and Toop by Gareth P. Jones.

Story line.
Constable and Toop story line was quite quick, hard to keep up with and it kept changing problems but it was constantly exiting and often puzzling. It did pass between people but when you’re thinking somebody’s the enemy they sometimes aren't so it isn't an ‘easy read’.
4/5

Characterization.
Even though the characters clearly aren't real, when you get into Constable and Toop they seem more real than you are! Only a few characters seem ‘good’ or ‘kind’ whilst hardly any are truly happy. Although sad, the characters are interesting and exiting.
5/5

Themes.
Set in Victorian London, Constable and Toop has a sad, gloomy feel about it but is always exiting and keeps getting new twists, good and bad, in the tale. Anybody looking for a jolly, happy story would be disappointed.
5/5

Readability
Although a great book, Constable and Toop is a hard book to read and I would only recommend it to ten years and up and only if they enjoyed a sad, scary, adventure story.
2/5

Overall score = 16/20
‘A great book with some scary twists.’

Tom Gates by L Pichon - Book Review

 Who's a big bully then?

Who’s a Big Bully Then is a really good, quick read book. Once you get your head in the book, you can’t get it out again...

The book made me feel quite angry, because the bully was getting on the boy’s nerves. There was a lot of feelings going through me when I was reading this book.
There is also different points in the story when you think
and feel lots of different things.

I would recommend this book to Year 5 and up.
Because it has some harsh words when Darren
(The Bully) is calling the boy names.

All around, this book is a amazing, its a quick to read book. If you want a good book to read, this is the one you need. Also this book is dyslexia friendly, so its easy to read..

Total score: 9.5/10

Top three must read books!

                 TOP THREE BOOKS TO READ
These three books are books that I have read myself and I would definitely recommend to you.Book number one is called the worlds best book it is a book full of random but interesting facts, strange stories and other odd knowledge. This is an easy read and I would recommend it for ages 9+.

Book number two is lemony Snicket and the ersatz elevator, it is based on the film (if you have ever seen it) if not it is about two teenagers and a baby...but their parents are dead.It sounds gloomy and sad but at some points it is actually lighthearted and funny.I would say this is designed for good readers and ages 10+

The final book is very well known and equally as good, this story follows the life of a horse who leaves his owner and goes into war. This is a slightly sad book although not as sad as the film.Unfortunately this is all I can say about it as I would spoil it for other people. This heartwarming story is designed for normal readers and for  ages 11+ because of mild gore.I hope this advice helped you and  please feel free to comment.

Tom Gates

Tom Gates is a very good book, it has a slightly childish humor and is an easy read. Its theme is all about this boy called Tom and he has a very grumpy sister called Delia. He is in a band called dogzombies and he has a crush Amy Porter, she does not notice Tom so he tries to impress her. Marcus Meldrew is Toms worst enemy he sits by Marcus in lessons he is extremely nosey. I wont tell you any more in case you read it yourself! By Emily

Eleven-Eleven

Eleven-eleven is a WW2 based book with a twist-its set on the same day as the war ends.It follows the daily war lives of three people there names are Axle (German), Eddie hertz (an american plane pilot),will (a new recruit that is underage).all these people meet together at some point in the story e.g axle shoots down Eddie's plane. This book is more for young teens and is for more advanced readers as it sometimes confuses you with the ways it flicks between the lives of the men.Secondly at some points it gets a bit gory and contains a few mild swearwords.I would recommend this book for people that like historical dramas.

Page Turners Reading Project

We are running a reading project called PAGE TURNERS. It involves us reading and reviewing six books - a bit like a class book club! We chose these books by researching the latest released books suitable for Years 5 and 6 and upwards. We had to research them carefully and we had a vote to get down to the final six books. If you are in year 5 or 6 you may want to read these books too....
